Description

Wednesday 16th June 2010 International Day of the African Child On the anniversary of the 1976 Soweto protests, when thousands of black schoolchildren took to the streets under the South African apartheid regime, the Organization of African Unity (now the African Union) dedicated a day to the honour of these brave actions. It is also a day to fight for the cause of children in trouble: the AIDS orphans, child soldiers and empoverished youth who will inherit the continent.

On this very wonderful and special day(June 16th),please take some time off and visit your Child's School,to know what is going on in the School and how your child is performing.
This 14th-20th June 2010, kick a goal for men’s health!Men’s Health Week is a chance to promote awareness for important male specific health issues, while acknowledging and celebrating the contribution men make at work, home and in the community. It’s about encouraging men to make the right choices to improve their lifestyle, wellbeing and all areas of their physical, mental, emotional and sexual health.Men’s Health Week 2010 puts men in the driver’s seat when it comes to their health, providing men and boys with access to health information and information about how to improve their day to day life for the better. It can be as easy as some daily exercise and a regular yearly checkup with a GP.

Goal of Men's Health Week
The purpose of Men's Health Week is to heighten the awareness of preventable health problems and encourage early detection and treatment of disease among men and boys.

This week gives health care providers, public policy makers, the media, and individuals an opportunity to encourage men and boys to seek regular medical advice and early treatment for disease and injury.

To quote Congressman Bill Richardson ( U.S Congressional Record, H3905-H3906, May 24, 1994):

•"Recognizing and preventing men's health problems is not just a man's issue. Because of its impact on wives, mothers, daughters, and sisters, men's health is truly a family issue."
